Prior to public health agencies becoming conflicted, corrupted and even captured, the United States had vibrant enforcement programs to address corruption, procurement fraud, grant fraud, scientific fraud and revolving door corruption crimes. These enforcement initiatives protected us, ensured our systems operated to protect rights and safety of Americans, and made us all feel safer. They are now mostly mothballed.
